SCHOOL DISCIPLINE

The National Teachers College endeavors to maintain order in the College to promote the accomplishment of school work and create an atmosphere conducive to learning.  Consistent with this policy, students who break school rules and regulations may be warned, put on probation, suspended, dismissed or expelled according to the nature and gravity of the infraction committed after thorough investigation and due process is made.


ADMINISTRATIVE SANCTIONS FOR DISCIPLINARY VIOLATIONS

  1. Warning a notice that continuation or repetition of specified conduct may be a cause for other disciplinary actions.

  2.  Probation exclusion from participation in privileges or extra curricular activities as set forth in the notice of probation; violation of the standard of conduct as determined after a hearing shall be reason for further disciplinary action.

  3. Suspension exclusion from classes, other privileges or activities on campus, for a definite period of time. If a student while on suspension violates terms set in the notice of suspension or standard of conduct on campus or school- sponsored activity after the opportunity for hearing, he shall be subject to further disciplinary sanction.

  4. Dismissal termination of student status for an indefinite period of time. He may be readmitted upon approval of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees to whom he applies. 

  5. Expulsion permanent termination of student status without possibility of readmission to any school.


    *The following are the causes for the above disciplinary administrative actions.

  1. Dishonesty 
     

    • Cheating

    • Plagiarism

    • Untruthfulness

    • Forgery

    • Tampering, and/or lending of school records, that is, transfer forms, certificates, identifications, registration forms and library cards, knowingly presenting and using such altered forms under false pretenses.

     

  2. Obstruction, disruption or prevention of teaching, administrative work, and the exercise of other’s right to engage in their respective studies, work, peaceful activities

  3. Abusive behavior or discourtesy towards College Officials, faculty members, other college personnel and co-students

  4. Physical assault and/or grave threat to College officials, faculty members, other college personnel and co-students

  5. Theft and robbery

  6. Damage to school property

  7. Illegal use, possession or distribution of prohibited drugs

  8. Unlawful possession and use of deadly weapons and explosives

  9. Engaging in any form of gambling within the campus

  10. Extortion and coercion

  11. Vandalism tearing or defacing library books, writing and drawing on walls and furniture, unauthorized removal of official notices, etc..


  12. Open refusal to wear the prescribed uniform

  13. Going to school smelling of liquor and/or alcoholic beverages within school premises

  14. Unauthorized use of the name of the school

  15. Unauthorized entry or use of college facilities

  16. Open refusal to accept corrective and disciplinary measures

  17. Violation of institution guidelines governing student organizations, publication and assemblies
     

  18. Membership in fraternities and sororities
